Hosted by the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM), the event brought together professionals from across the Asia Pacific and the Netherlands, united by the theme “One Asia Connected Solutions.”
For SIURA Studio, this was a vital platform to share tangible proof of our “Why” designing beyond beauty to connect people, place, and nature with purpose.
As part of the “Climate Adaptation Design” showcase, our founder, Anton Siura, presented the story of Tebet Eco Park ↗. He shared how this award-winning project serves as a powerful model for urban regeneration guided by Nature-based Solutions. The presentation focused on the park’s journey from a degraded, flood-prone canal to a thriving, resilient ecosystem that restores biodiversity, actively manages stormwater, and most importantly reconnects the community with nature in a joyful way.
The event was a powerful exchange of ideas, featuring inspiring work from peers like Michiel Van Driessche (Felixx Landscape), LAr. Phua Chin Eng (Landart Design), Tawatchai Kobkaikit (TK Studio) and many others.
More than just a conference, the experience reinforced our core belief in connection. As Anton shared after the event:
“It was an inspiring platform to exchange ideas on how nature-based solutions can shape our cities for the better… But beyond the presentations, what made this truly memorable was the bond formed with the organisers, speakers, and my own team. The spontaneous conversations, shared laughter, and new friendships outside the sessions made it all special.
Participating in overseas conferences is always a joy! Not just for learning, but for connecting with people who share the same passion.”
The conference was a powerful reminder that the challenges we face are shared across borders, but so is the collective passion to solve them. We returned from Kuala Lumpur energized and more committed than ever to our mission of creating purposeful, resilient, and joyful landscapes that “grow together” with the communities they serve.
