SIURA Studio was honored to participate in Jakarta Future Festival (JFF) 2026 through an invitation from the Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Agency (Dinas Pertamanan dan Hutan Kota / DPHK). Held at Taman Ismail Marzuki, the festival brought together government institutions, communities, academics, practitioners, and creative organizations. Together, they explored ideas and collaborations for Jakarta’s future under the theme “Navigating Resilience.”

As the municipal agency responsible for Jakarta’s parks, urban forests, and green open spaces, DPHK presented a series of initiatives at the exhibition. These initiatives demonstrate how landscape-led approaches can contribute to a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable city.

From Parks to Urban Ecosystems

The projects presented at the exhibition shared a common ambition: transforming public open spaces into living urban ecosystems that support ecological health, community life, and climate resilience.

Among the featured works were:

  1. Revitalisasi Taman Semanggi, a proposal to reimagine one of Jakarta’s most strategic urban green spaces.
  2. Taman Bendera Pusaka, a landscape intervention that transforms an underutilized urban corridor into a vibrant blue-green ecosystem.
  3. Microlibrary Inclusive di Taman Puring, which combines learning, accessibility, and public space.
  4. Penataan dan Integrasi Lapangan Banteng dengan Gedung AA Maramis, a project focused on strengthening connectivity and enhancing the public realm.

While differing in scale and context, these projects share a common ambition. They demonstrate how public spaces can move beyond conventional recreational functions and become critical urban infrastructure. Through landscape architecture, these spaces support biodiversity, improve water management, strengthen accessibility, encourage social interaction, and deepen people’s connection to nature.

Communicating the Value of Green Infrastructure

Presented through project narratives, visual documentation, drawings, and physical models, the exhibition highlighted the long-term impact of investing in public green spaces. Visitors were invited to explore how landscape architecture can contribute to a healthier urban environment while creating meaningful experiences for everyday users.

Jakarta Future Festival allowed SIURA Studio to share the design thinking behind these projects. Each project represents the collective effort of government agencies, consultants, designers, engineers, communities, and stakeholders working together to shape a more resilient urban future.

A Shared Commitment to Jakarta’s Future

As Jakarta continues to navigate environmental and urban challenges, public space plays an increasingly important role in the city’s resilience. Parks, urban forests, ecological corridors, and community spaces are more than amenities. They are essential infrastructure that supports environmental health and public wellbeing.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Agency (DPHK) for the invitation and continued collaboration. Jakarta Future Festival 2026 highlighted the transformative potential of landscape architecture and the collective efforts shaping Jakarta’s green future.

At SIURA Studio, we remain committed to designing landscapes where ecology, culture, and community intersect. Through landscape architecture, we seek to create places that enrich everyday life while contributing to a more resilient and sustainable future.
