Sequoia Hills Streetscape and The Leroy reimagines township streets as ecological corridors. Meadow, woodland, and hilltop zones shape mobility and gathering, while bioswales and tree canopies manage slope and climate. Civic nodes such as plazas, amphitheaters, gateways defined as anchor identity, demonstrating how infrastructure can grow as community framework and ecological system simultaneously.

Sequoia Hills Streetscape is envisioned as a hillside township where streets double as ecological corridors with The Leroy cluster as the civic heart
Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of Sequoia National Park, the plan transforms roadways into shaded promenades, civic junctions, and community gateways. Landscape becomes the framework linking homes, mobility, and nature across the district’s rolling topography.

The challenge was to transform vehicular corridors into green streetscapes that managed slope, restored ecology, and framed daily community life
The steep terrain presented significant design constraints: slopes between 6–13% complicated circulation, stormwater management, and accessibility. Engineering requirements risked turning streets into rigid infrastructure, while the scale of the township threatened loss of identity and ecological continuity. A sequential implementation plan that defines how the landscape evolves over time, with 3 Phases, marking phase 1 as the foundation.

The streetscape strategy positions roads as living spines of the township
Phases 1–3 unfold through distinct ecological narratives: Meadow Drive framed by grasses and play nodes, Riparian Woodland with shaded creekside promenades, and Hilltop Drive opening to long views. Cluster carries forward the Sequoia Hills vision through three main characters, such as Riverview Promenade, Hilltop Terrace, and Pine Grove, where streets expand into plazas, amphitheaters, and community parks. Tree-lined corridors, bioswales, and shaded pathways manage stormwater while moderating microclimate. A roundabout crowned with a Bodhi tree anchors identity at the gateway. By weaving ecological systems and social programs into the street network, Sequoia Hills establishes mobility as a civic and environmental framework.

- The Hilltop Roundabout begins to take shape with the Bodhi tree.
- Early vegetation is being planted alongside newly laid pavements.
