Suspension bridges and platforms navigate the steep topography, minimizing ecological disturbance to the forest.

A Mountain Landscape Reimagined for Exploration

Eiger Adventure Land (EAL) is a masterplan located on the foothills of Mount Gede Pangrango, a landscape of steep contours and dense forest ecosystems. Envisioned as a world-class eco-tourism destination. Anchored by a cable car system and a 530-meter suspension bridge, the site introduces experiences such as the EAL Playscape, EAL Cultural Walk, hiking routes, wellness spaces, and forest-edge hospitality, each designed to immerse visitors from landscape-first adventure territory where experience grows from terrain, climate, and ecological systems of the Indonesian mountains.

Winding concrete pathways meander through the pine grove, curating an atmospheric forest bathing experience.

Balancing Adventure with Ecological Integrity

The design balances conservation with accessible exploration. The site’s steep contours, dense forest systems, and sensitive habitats form the framework for every intervention. Built elements are placed mindful and responsible, following ridges, threading between existing trees, and shaping experiences that immerse rather than impose. The masterplan reframe adventure by understanding nature through movement, adopting principles of ecology, integration, and sustainable recreation. Trails use low-impact construction; vegetation strategies restore disturbed areas; and visitor flow is managed to protect sensitive zones. Educational content is embedded throughout, positioning EAL not only as a destination for recreation, but also as a benchmark for Indonesia adventure landscapes, providing platform for conservation awareness and cultural storytelling.

Angular timber terraces create flexible social seating, orienting visitors toward the sweeping mountain panorama.

A Mountain Beyond Landscape, Where Play, Culture, and Conservation Converge

The circulation developed to be experiential (ascending, traversing, pausing), including walking through a 530-meter suspension bridge, set to be one of the world’s longest. The elements connect outdoor programs that span all ages and intensities: the EAL Playscape, a large-scale nature-play environment shaped by topography and forest materiality; the EAL Cultural Walk, a curated trail that reveals the mountain’s ecological stories and cultural heritage: a series of adventure routes, canopy walks, and forest-edged hiking trails.

A zip-line traverses the valley, linking the visitor center from aerial perspective.

Hospitality components are integrated as quiet extensions of the land. Eco resorts, cabins, and wellness spaces sit within natural clearings, offering stays that foreground the mountain’s climate, views, and forest atmosphere. Eiger Adventure Land ultimately becomes a landscape that respects nature, one that harmonizes preservation with active enjoyment, shaping an adventure realm that is both iconic and deeply grounded in the spirit of the Indonesian mountains.

Terraced lawns and shaded slopes transform the hillside, responding the elevation.
A cantilevered observation deck projects over the valley, framing panoramic views of the mountain landscape.
